Le 3 Montagne Farm
Nestled among the rolling hills of Canino, a land steeped in history and ancient traditions, lies the Le 3 Montagne farm. The name immediately evokes the imposing panorama surrounding the estate, dominated by three peaks rising on the horizon, silent witnesses to the passage of time. This region, Tuscia, was already prized by the ancient Etruscans for the high quality of its fertile soils, which they expertly cultivated, leaving behind an agricultural legacy that continues to yield extraordinary fruits today. This abundance is due to calcareous and volcanic soils, with a particularly favorable microclimate, close to the sea, in the heart of the Maremma region of Lazio. We are an oasis of biodiversity, where vineyards and olive groves stretch as far as the eye can see, interrupted by rows of fruit trees and patches of woodland. Here, nature follows its course undisturbed, and wild animals find refuge and abundant food.
The decision to produce wine and oil was a conscious one, driven by the desire to offer authentic, high-quality products while respecting the environment and consumer health. The grapes, rigorously hand-selected, produce full-bodied and structured red wines, fruity and delicate white wines, and fresh and pleasant rosés. The extra virgin olive oil, obtained from premium olives, is distinguished by its diverse aromas, ranging from delicate and fruity to intense and bold, with notes of freshly cut grass, artichoke, and almond.
The productive varieties
The area is particularly suited to growing native grapes such as Sangiovese, Merlot, Vermentino, Trebbiano/Procanico, and Malvasia. These varieties, thanks to the mild climate and mineral-rich soil, produce unique and distinctive wines.
The harvest is traditionally done by hand. The grapes, picked at peak ripeness, are gently brought to the cellar where fermentation takes place in steel vats and large oak barrels, depending on the type of wine. Aging, however, can last from a few months to several years.
Olive trees of various varieties—Canino, Maurino, Leccino, and Pendolino—find their ideal habitat here. The olives are harvested at the beginning of veraison, at different times depending on the variety, and transported to the mill within hours of harvest, which begins in the first ten days of October.
The olives are cold-pressed to produce a top-quality extra virgin olive oil, a true elixir of well-being rich in antioxidant properties.
The people who animate the 3 mountains
Le 3 Montagne is a farm born from a fusion of passion for the land and respect for the environment. Every bottle of wine and every drop of oil we produce reflects an unbreakable bond with nature. Management is entrusted to Marisa, an agricultural expert with extensive experience in managing farms. Thanks to her expertise and dedication, we stand out for the high quality of our products, obtained through sustainable and innovative farming practices.
Luigi, the owner of the company, brings with him the skills and values passed down by his grandparents, who owned a farm in the province of Caserta.
